As the Human Data Science company, IQVIA is ready to help reduce the impact of COVID-19 today, and provide hope for the future. The following geographic information has been found in COVID-19-related documents from ● MEDLINE® (first author affiliation) and ● ClinicalTrials.gov (all study locations) in 2020-2022.

These markers show key locations around the world where COVID-19 studies are being run and COVID-19 scientific abstracts are being written. Each marker links to studies and articles in that location (and is ● green if it has both), where further information about treatments, epidemiology, diagnostics, etc. is reported. Click on each marker to learn more.

Tip: shift-click to draw a box to zoom in to. In order to generate results as quickly as possible, an automated process (see Methodology, below) is used and so there may be errors in the results. If you have spotted an error, please let us know so that we can rectify it.

If you have any questions about the results or would like to know more, please contact us.

  1. Linguamatics NLP is used to automatically extract COVID-19 related documents from the MEDLINE® and ClinicalTrials.gov indexes in the Linguamatics Content Store.
  2. The First Address for the First Author is extracted from each MEDLINE® abstracts and Study Locations are extracted from related Clinical Trials.
  3. Addresses and Locations are cleaned up (in an automated process) and passed through a geocoder to obtain a latitude and longitude value for each.
  4. A location dataset (JSON format) is created to link the latitude and longitude with the document identifier and the document title.
  5. Location dataset is displayed as individual markers on the map.
